EODP objectives focus on two priority areas: Business Development and Community Innovation.

Intake Two - applications must be received by February 29, 2012, and funding be expended by March 31, 2013.

Business Development (BD) - supports projects that will lead to the growth of new and existing businesses within rural eastern Ontario communities. This includes initiatives in key areas, such as skills development, youth attraction, business planning, innovation and information and communication technologies (ICT) adoption.

Community Innovation (CI) - enables community-led economic development that enhances and diversifies local economies. Working in partnership with community stakeholders, CI builds the economic and innovative capacity of rural eastern Ontario communities, and develops opportunities for sustainable economic growth and employment.

Collaborative Projects
Eligibility
EODP projects that involve and benefit one or more communities are encouraged. Collaborative Projects are expected to result in a greater number of strategic economic development initiatives and improved partnerships to benefit eastern Ontario communities, including the strengthening of linkages between urban and rural areas. The objective of Collaborative Projects are to support initiatives which will stimulate business development and community innovation opportunities by promoting economic development leading to a competitive and diversified regional economy within eastern Ontario. These projects will involve investments from two or more CFDCs.
